How you can help us
As we are a small project, we rely a lot on volunteers. We, and the schools along the border, need:
- Science specialists (to assist us with developing and writing modules).
- Experienced teacher trainers to help us meet training demands.
Experienced teachers looking to contribute to education along the border would do well to contact one of our close working partners: Burma Volunteer Program (BVP) – www.burmavolunteers.org. They will be able to help locate suitable teaching placements at schools that we work with in the camps and migrant sectors.
If you would like further information regarding these positions available withe CP, please do not hesitate to contact us. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to accept other volunteers without these specific skills.
Donations: We readily accept donations of useful teaching materials, e.g. class sets of dictionaries, atlases and graded readers. The schools can’t make much use of one-off books, especially if the English level is high.
Contributions: We use donated money in many ways. We purchase teaching materials such as those mentioned above, including science and computer equipment. We also sometimes choose to donate directly to Post-10 schools who are facing funding problems.
Contact us! Are you, or an organisation or school, involved in a similar situation somewhere else in the world? Get in touch and share your work with us. We would love to hear from you.
